Make your Featherweight 221 and 222 ready for treadle use with the new Feather Treadle Kit. Kit includes treadle cabinet table insert, custom handwheel adapter, leather treadle belt, washer, and friction band.
Converting your Featherweight is easy. Simply remove the stop motion knob then remove the belt, add the adapter (tightening it by using the handwheel washer for adequate tightening leverage), custom friction band and treadle handwheel then replace stop motion knob. All that is left is to add it to your treadle cabinet. Use the custom insert, add the treadle belt and begin sewing. You can watch Carmon take you through all the steps in our video above.
Clear cutout measures 14 3/4" x 7" - If your treadle cut out area is a different size you can have a board cut to size for the same effect.
NOTE: As with all treadles, machines are not connected to electricity, therefore, an external light source may be necessary for additional sewing visibility. Placing the cabinet next to a bright window was quite common in the olden days.... enjoy the view while sewing! OR we do carry a battery operated LED light that magnetically attaches to the Featherweight faceplate, which will give some additional illumination without the need for electricity.
We cannot guarantee that other spoked handwheels will fit the Feather Treadle, therefore this is sold as a complete set and not individually pieced.
